Brose Photography had its beginnings in 1992 predominantly
as a wedding studio. I was working as a studio photographer in Aberdeen, South
Dakota that did not offer wedding
photography. As a result, I began operating my own studio specializing in photographing
weddings which filled a need and desire in the community.
1994 brought us to Grand Forks. I transferred my wedding experience and added
photographing individuals and families predominantly on location. 1998 was a
big development year when I built a designated studio onto our house with the
help of many friends and family. This allowed me to begin photographing clients
on site and resulted in adding more seniors and families to my client base.
The studio is open 9:30-6:30, Tuesday through Friday, at present, and other
times by appointment.
I feel my strengths of what I do are artistic and technical
talent, flexibility, patience, and a desire to fulfill the wishes of my clients.
Brose Photography moved to its current location at 201 Towner Ave in Larimore
in 2004. This location provides me with many photo opportunities and has great
historical character. The building was built in 1901 and served most
of its life as a financial institution. I also have two beautiful parks nearby
for outdoor sessions, Turtle River State Park and the Larimore Dam Recreation
area. There are also numerous other photo opportunities around the town and
surrounding area to make your portrait session unique. This location also allows
the studio to have lower overhead expenses so I am able to pass the savings
on to my clients in the form of lower costs and more personalized service.
Thank You,
John J. Brose
